Hip-Hop: Wale - Break Up Song

This is my song of the week. Wale always seems to drop some random hotness. The beat is ridiculous...samples Stevie Wonder's "All I Do", which as one of my boys pointed out, "must be one EXPENSIVE sample". Check it out...DJs, worth a spin.

Money Tree Riddim Mix (mixed live by DJ Nic Nice)

New riddim for 2010, the Money Tree Riddim is one of the hypest riddims of the year so far. Featuring Demarco, Vybz Kartel, Vegas, Munga, and many others, this riddim is sure to bounce in the clubs. Let me know what you think...

Rihanna ft Demarco - Rudeboy (Million Dollar Remix)

I am not a huge fan of Rihanna, but Demarco makes this tune tuff. The remix beat is a bit more uptempo and has a higher bpm  (90 vs. 87 to be exact). Great addition for any DJ. Should get a great result.

Hip-Hop: Roscoe Dash ft Soulja Boy - All the Way Turnt Up

This is not a new song, but it is now my jam for the week. I am never the one to give props to Soulja Boy, but this tune is hype...simple. Its been on the radio in some markets, but I am sure it will be country-wide in a couple weeks. DJs...this is a must.

Hip-Hop: Snoop Dogg ft. Jay-Z - I Wanna Rock (Remix)

I feel like the original version of this song didn't get as big as it should. With the addition of Jay-Z, it might actually gain some traction on the East Coast. Great beat, and both Snoop and Jay ride it well.

Ms. Triniti ft. Vybz Kartel - Lockdown

Nice collabo tune. Kartel seems to always strike gold with these collabos with female singers. DJs, not a must download, but a good to have for parties.

Smooth Tune!!! Demarco - True Friend (Buss a Shot)

Nice tune from Demarco. It's very important to have true friends, and watchout for the frenemies. DJs, you might want to add this to the arsenal.

Vybz Kartel ft. Sheba - Do Me Dat

This song is getting really popular. Vybz and Sheba (off the the England Town Riddim) goes back and forth about how she is going do everything to him that he has done to her (cheating, etc.). Its a clever song. DJs, those who know the song, love it, so just make sure you know your audience.

Bookshelf Riddim Mix - Exclusive

One of the most popular riddims in recent dancehall history. Most well known songs are Beenie Man - Bookshelf and Sean Paul - Deport Them. One of the many reasons why Konshens made the song in the previous post DJs, a must have.

Konshens - Bring Back the Reggae

This tune is exactly what alot of people are saying about dancehall reggae nowadays. "Nowadays de tune dem a sound like nursery rhyme". In this tune, Konshens pays homage to the greats, including the recent greats like Vybz Kartel and Movado, and talks about how he misses the 90s reggae. There are two versions to this song (dancehall and hip hop). DJs, nice warmup tune for now. It is yet to be determined if it will blow up.

Bug (Clone) Riddim Mix - Exclusive

DJs, this riddim is a classic in dancehall music. Though it isn't fast and upbeat, this is one of the most unique and recognizable riddims. In the mix you will hear one my favorite songs, ever: Bounty Killer ft. Baby Cham - Another Level.

Busy Signal - Mi Love Money

What would you do for money? Off the Stainless Riddim,   (June 2009) this tune a bit dated by now, but is still a hype tune with a decent message. DJs, this is a hot or miss at parties, might be a good warmup tune.

THROWBACK!!! Lady Saw - Sycamore Tree

Apparently this site has little to no female presence, so this is my answer. Off the Joyride Riddim, this tune, along with "Tanya Stephens - Yuh nuh Ready Fe Dis Yet" always made all the ladies go mad. DJs, if you play these tunes, you will be rebooked, no questions.

Mavado - You a Mi Lover

Time to speed it back up a little with this Mavado tune (another "Di Genius" production). Its a nice combination of dancehall tempo and smooth lyrics. This is the radio edit, as the RAW version is ridiculous :-). DJs, this is also a must have for recent dancehall music.

Big Tune!!! Serani - When It's Cold

Everyone know that Serani is dunnin de place right now. This song is on the School Bell Riddim, which is a Throwback/Pay Homage riddim. Another great tune on this riddim is the Gaza remake of the classic "Ting-a-Ling". These songs are a must for DJs. Tuff Tune, Tuff Riddim! Great chance for DJs to mash up the old and new.

Mavado - House Cleaning

Incase you didn't know: "It's against de law fe wash Panty!!!" Yes, this is one of the badman anthems of dancehall right now. If you are a DJ, you are required to have this tune. Full stop! This is on the Set Me Free Riddim, which is hype also...

Mavado - House Cleaning

Aidonia - Oh Oh Oh

Off the Fitness Riddim, this tune is a hit. The raw version is that exactly, RAW, but the clean version can rock a club too. The overall riddim has some other nice tunes.

Aidonia - Oh Oh Oh

Big Tune!! Merital - My Money (Ha Ha)

This song is on replay for me right now. It is one of the biggest tunes out. It is on the Go Go Club Riddim. Sometimes simple = genius, and this is an example of that. A must have for any DJ right now.

Vybz Kartel - Virginity (Versatility)

This song, on the Beach Front Riddim, will also mash up any dancehall party. The raw version is a bit raunchy, but there is also a radio edit, called "Versatility". This song is quite addictive, but once again would not be appreciated if played for people who are not real dancehall fans.
